Course Format and Time Requirement
Learn How, When, and Where It Suits You
Everyone learns in their own way. Some of us are more visual and prefer to watch videos. Others prefer to read or listen, while others like to learn by doing. Our courses use a variety of formats and teaching methods to keep you engaged.
Collaboration is what we stress, so you’ll have ample opportunity to work with others, researching, reflecting, reviewing, and discussing issues that count for you and in ways you enjoy.
In addition to the advantages of IWE’s targeted content and highly regarded faculty, you’ll enjoy self-paced learning delivered online so you choose when you want to study and where. Maybe you work best at night, or before the sun comes up, or maybe your job entails lots of travel. No matter what your situation, we are sure we can meet your needs. Of course, live discussions occur at fixed times, but whenever possible, we schedule them after hours for maximum convenience and attendance.
Enjoy Plenty of Practice Opportunities
All our courses include live practice sessions to help you hone your skills. Depending on the practice session, you’ll get a chance to review recordings for your sessions, so you can see what worked and what didn’t.
Getting to know other students in the course provides yet another opportunity for you to learn. We encourage you to reach out to make friends. It’s likely that you’ll find others that share your interests and goals, and are eager to work with you to help make you the best you can be.
Manageable Time Commitment
Ideally, you’ll spend an hour a day on your coursework. Depending on how quickly you move through the material, a 36-hour course could require between 30 to 40 hours. We suggest allowing six weeks for a 36-hour course. You can easily manage your courses even if you have a full-time job and kids.
An important part of the process of being well is to be self-reflective and observant of your thoughts and behaviors. Interactive Journaling® is a powerful tool to help you do that. Not only will you use Interactive Journaling in your coursework, but Interactive Journaling will become part of your Wellness Practitioner toolkit. Our training will help you recognize the value of this powerful tool and how to use it to help others.
